Kalos is more than one voice. It's a small, intentional team of people who bring their experience, heart, and care to every project. From operations to design to hospitality, each person here plays a role in shaping the way we welcome, listen, and serve.

tricia peterson

owner, founder

Tricia founded Kalos after more than 15 years of creating meaningful spaces, events, and programs across homes, nonprofits, workplaces, and community settings. Her experience includes planning events and personal celebrations, developing programming for women’s transitional housing and other nonprofits, helping design and build out a coffee shop, and creating welcoming environments in both professional and residential spaces. She has also renovated and owned multiple homes, including building a home from the ground up. Kalos brings together her background in hospitality, design, community building, and service to create spaces and experiences that help people feel known, welcomed, and connected.

Interior Design & Space Planning Intern

Grace Carter currently is working on her graduate degree at VCU in the School of the Arts. She completed her undergraduate studies at James Madison University in Engineering, with a focused study in geology and climate systems. Her academic interests are environmental systems, sustainable design, community engagement, and interdisciplinary research. Her international experience brings an interesting perspective to problem-solving.

Operations & Systems Consultant

Kayla brings extensive experience in coffee shop operations, systems implementation, workflow development, team training, and startup support.

Her role is to help build sustainable systems and operational foundations that allow Kalos Hospitality to scale thoughtfully and efficiently.

Elisa comes to Kalos with over 5 years of experience as an executive assistant. She enjoys diving into the details, creating systems, and organizing. Along with having these skills, she also holds a deep passion for philanthropy and fundraising.

A portion of everything we earn, in both revenue and time, is reinvested into pro bono design and hospitality services for the people and places that make Richmond home. We listen first, build relationships, and follow the lead of the people who know and serve their communities best. Our role isn’t to arrive with all the answers; it’s to bring our skills, resources, and creativity alongside the good work already happening.
